Following incidents at the PUFC away game on Saturday, CFU have the following statement:
“CFU condemn the actions of those involved in the vile chants about Simon Dobbin, the throwing of flares at fans and the damage to the toilets at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday.
Banter is often used an excuse for hatred and as a disguise for incitement.
Support for a football club is an entirely positive thing. Mindless hatred of people simply because they support another football team is quite another.
Wanton vandalism has no place in football.
The vast majority of football fans are decent people who have the game we love in common. We must stand united against the minority who think that their bigotry speaks for the rest of us.”
