The club recently held its first ever Female Fans’ Forum, following consultation with our female supporter group, the Amber Belles. The club wanted to hear the views of female fans on various aspects of the matchday experience, and the Amber Belles were keen to initiate a platform where female voices could be heard and ideas could flow.
The forum was held in the newly refurbished Layrd Design Suite. Hosted by CEO Alex Tunbridge, the panel featured Head Coach Mark Bonner, Director Jenny Horsfield and HR Manager Janet Mills.
The first part of the evening was broken into topics including recruitment of female staff, the full integration of the women’s team into the club and the matchday experience – pre-match, during and after. Each topic was introduced by a panellist who then invited questions and comments.
Afterwards, the floor was open for suggestions and feedback from the supporters. A highly engaging conversation covered various aspects of community engagement, safety, disability access and the next generation of supporters.
The event was a big success with the club impressed with the quality of interaction. They are working on some of the ideas already, and some of the bigger issues will form part of a longer-term strategy.
Lots to be happy and excited about. We’re grateful to the club for taking forward our suggestion of the female fans’ forum – thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to the next one!
