The CUFC Lottery is changing and now is the time to sign up and play...

We will still be having two weekly draws, but there will now be a guaranteed £100 winner each week. And all the proceeds – after prizes and essential costs – will continue to go towards improving the fan experience at The Abbey as well as a small number of deserving local causes.

The Must Win Monday draw will be won every week, while the prize fund for the Abbey Accumulator will increase by £50 each week until it’s won, at which point the prize fund will re-set and start accumulating again. Not only that, we’ll also be having some ‘money can’t buy’ prizes from time to time too.

Historically, the Cambridge United Lottery grew to become one of the biggest football club lotteries in the country, and certainly within East Anglia. A total of 26,000 members were playing each week, with tickets sold through 200 agents. By 1969 the Club were trying hard for election into the Football League and weekly sales of the lottery had reached 45,000, bringing the club over £1,000 (£15,000 today) per week of unbudgeted extra income.

Today, the CUFC Lottery aims to raise funds for improvements to both Club and fan amenities at the Abbey Stadium, as well as local community projects. Examples of projects recently funded by the Lottery include the purchase of a tractor, and the purchase and installation of two new scoreboards, various hand-dryers and a wealth of materials to improve the pitch and the Abbey Arms.
Over the years, the Lottery has provided essential support to keep the Abbey up to scratch and the aim is to increase this support to benefit our loyal fans. You can sign up Annually (£104), Six monthly (£52), Quarterly (£26) or Monthly (£8.67), so why not give it a go? You have to be in it to win it, after all!

And with a vibrant lottery earning the club extra facilities and also improving the fans’ experience, who knows what the future could hold for the U's? Simply visit www.cufclottery.co.uk to sign up today!

The CUFC Lottery is kindly sponsored by Postscript.
