Saturday's goalless draw at Mansfield is not a game that will live long in the memory of Cambridge United supporters, but it brought to a close a season that has seen the club make enormous strides on the pitch to finish ninth in League Two.
Back in October, with the U's languishing 14th in the table, the club's board decided, bravely as it appeared at the time, to dispense with the services of Richard Money following defeat against Bristol Rovers at the Abbey Stadium.
The appointment of Money's replacement, Shaun Derry, was seen as imaginative by some fans and risky by others, but the former Queens Park Rangers hard man has overseen a mostly positive second half of the season.
