Dave Doggett insists Cambridge United's Fans' Charter has had a positive effect on the matchday experience at the Abbey.
The guidelines for supporters' behaviour were launched jointly with Cambridge Fans United last month and United chairman Doggett felt there was a noticeable change in the atmosphere at the ground as a result.
His view comes despite admitting United had been reprimanded by the Football League for an incident that saw two people throw bottles on to the pitch in frustration at a refereeing decision during their season-opening 3-0 win against Newport County.
In his programme notes from last Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Crawley, Doggett warned the FA and the League could fine United or potentially close sections of the Abbey if there was a repeat of such an incident.
