CFU Vision and Aims
Having celebrated ten years of Cambridge Fans United, the organisation has focussed its attention on the next ten years and thought about what it needs to do to support Cambridge United Football Club and its fans and supporters. This is expressed in the Vision and Aims set out here:-
The Club (CUFC)
Vision:
Cambridge United Football Club is run as a sustainable business at whatever level of football, is central to the local community and with the fans fully represented at all levels.
Aims:
Our Organisation (CFU)
Vision:
CFU is run on a prudent and sustainable basis, representing all members and all fans.
Aims:
The Community
Vision:
CFU actively represents members and fans in the local community and with statutory, business and non-profit organisations.
Aims:
The Stadium
Vision:
Cambridge United's stadium meets the needs of supporters on match days, is commercially sustainable for the club and provides a vibrant resource for the wider community.

Aims:
The Club (CUFC)
Vision:
Cambridge United Football Club is run as a sustainable business at whatever level of football, is central to the local community and with the fans fully represented at all levels.
Aims:
- To ensure that Cambridge United Football Club is operated in a financially prudent manner and ensure that there are structures in place that will balance risks with sound financial management.
- To promote the positive public image and reputation of CUFC
- To control 26 per cent of the shareholding of CUFC both through share ownership and the ability to exercise proxies.
- To ensure that ownership of CUFC is not dependent on any one individual.
- To lobby for the introduction of the Golden Share.
- To ensure that the position of Fans Director is maintained and secured for all time.
- To ensure that the Fans Director is resourced and delivered through CFU or, if a new process is put in place, that CFU has a director in its own right.
- To support CUFC's Sports Trust as a sport and education programme that will benefit the club and the wider community.
Our Organisation (CFU)

- To ensure that CFU is operated in a financially prudent manner and ensure that there are structures in place that will balance risks with sound financial management.
- To promote the positive public image and reputation of CFU and Cambridge United fans in general.
- To ensure that the club is safeguarded by maintaining and promoting strong and active CFU membership.
- To reflect the views of its members and fans.
- To develop and deliver clear objectives and to communicate progress on a regular basis
The Community
Vision:
CFU actively represents members and fans in the local community and with statutory, business and non-profit organisations.
Aims:
- To win more financial, political and practical support from within our community whilst building closer ties with the local authority, the business sector, non-profit and sporting organisations.
- To encourage CUFC to be a good neighbour within the local and wider community
- To promote and encourage local community schemes
- To promote supporter trusts at other clubs under the Supporters Direct organisation and model.
The Stadium
Vision:
Cambridge United's stadium meets the needs of supporters on match days, is commercially sustainable for the club and provides a vibrant resource for the wider community.
Aims:
- To work with Grosvenor Developments & CUFC to ensure the new stadium meets the needs and requirements of all supporters.
- To ensure CUFC's base remains as close as possible to the geographical roots of the club and community.
Our Values
Vision:
CFU is welcoming and inclusive, forward thinking, with a positive attitude to challenge.
Aims:
- To ensure CFU and club are run on sound ethical principles,encouraging equality and diversity
- To ensure that CFU and Cambridge United develop,manage and deliver systems and structures that are environmentally sustainable wherever possible.
- To maintain a "can do" attitude and a realistic level of ambition.
