Tenth CFU Annual General Meeting
The 10th CFU AGM will be held on Monday 11th January 2010, at Cambridge United Supporters Club, Newmarket Road, Cambridge, starting at 7.30 pm. Current and former CFU members, and anyone else is invited to attend and the outline Agenda is shown below.
If your membership has lapsed, or you are currently not a full member you can send a cheque to me (at the address given below) or hand it in at the CFU caravan on a matchday. You will be eligible to vote at the AGM, provided you have renewed your membership by 4th January 2010.
If you renew after this date you will not be eligible to vote at the AGM. Lapsed and non-members are welcome at the AGM, but are not eligible to vote.
Brian Attmore stood down as Fans Elected Director in May 2009. The Trust Board decided that to have an election for his successor during the summer was not a good idea (it is expensive and would mean another summer election in 2 years time). Instead the Trust Board decided to appoint an interim FED, Colin Proctor was proposed and accepted the position as interim FED to January 2010.
A call for nominations for FED from January 2010 for a 2 year period resulted in one nomination, Colin Proctor. Therefore a vote by a show of hands will be taken on the night of the AGM.
Members of the CFU Trust Board serve for 3 years. Gary Atyes, Mark Stuart-Wood and Will Jones are standing down by rotation and are available for re-election.
Brian Thorby, Nick Parker, Nigel Browne and Rob Negus were co-opted to the Trust Board during the year and are available for election to the Trust Board. Other members of the Trust Board are: Dave Matthew-Jones (Chair), Derek Wick (Treasurer), Colin Proctor (Interim FED), Anton Thacker, Carol Looker, Joy Childs, Robert Osbourn.
Brian Attmore, Carolyn Cater, Justin Medd and Martin Jordan resigned from the Trust Board during the year.
If you would like to nominate someone for CFU Trust Board, please use the form at the bottom of the Agenda. Your proposal should be seconded by another CFU member.
If there are nominations for more than 7 candidates I will arrange for a vote on the night. I must have the nomination forms by noon Monday 4th January 2010 to ensure adequate time for voting slips to be produced.
CFU has a web based membership database which has been in operation for over a year. The system enables us to contact members by email, and gives us a number of other features, such as surveys, and contact by SMS.
There are many members where we have incorrect email addresses. The email address we have for you is shown at the top of this letter. If it is incorrect, please let me know.
I send out CFU emails on average 1 every 2 weeks. If you have not received any CFU emails and the email address is correct can you please check your spam settings.
You can contact me at: terry.wilby@ntlworld.com for any queries on the system.
For those members who do not have internet access or an email address, if there are any of your details (such as address/phone numbers) that need to be updated please let me know and I will update the system.
