Two days of sun and the spirits are lifted - The Apprentice Groundsman

It really makes a difference for the sun to be shining. Working outside is obviously warmer however the wind can still be fresh blowing across the common. One thing the wind can help with is the drying times.

We carried on from yesterday with areas around the Habbin being painted. See below the slide show for the food kiosks

The day started for Mick R today with the painting of a yellow line on the step outside the hospitality suite. Mick is really good at the fiddly technical jobs having worked as a maintenance man at one of the University colleges until retiring. He actually never comes to matches. More interested in music being a drummer for a local band

Les continued with the undercoating of the wood - he will probably be on it for the rest of the week finishing off the undercoating / priming of the remaining wood.

Brian and Terry commenced on the first coat of the Habbin South Tea Bar and some of the wall immediately  next to it. When the brickwork is finished Alan will begin to paint the woodwork. He painting the Habbin North shutters at present. We are changing the serving shutters from white to give them a bit more identity. Not Amber this time but trying to use up the existing paint to match the turnstile doors in the Habbin area. When the yellow is finished we will then paint the black. Hoping it will be done ready for the Port Vale match
